The Cumberland County area, including Hope Mills, is part of a humid subtropical climate zone. Temperatures are generally moderate throughout the year. While winters tend to be mild, with average high temperatures in the low-50s, cold spells do move into the area and can bring snow a few days per season. On these occasions, it is crucial that homeowners have a heat pump or furnace system in place, especially since pipework could be in danger of freezing. Likewise, summers tend to be hot with high humidity, often bringing severe thunderstorms to the area, so it is crucial that residents have access to an air conditioning system when weather conditions become dangerous.
